Silas turns 3!

Oh, how time flies...it seems like yesterday Si was this tiny little baby, and now he is our big boy.

Silas when he was one week old!

The morning of his 3rd birthday, eating his m&m pancakes.

He wanted a spider man theme, which is funny because he has never seen a spider man movie or cartoon. He picked out a spider man toy in the store once and now he is hooked.

We told him it was his day and he could do what he wanted, so first thing he chose was to go hit golf balls at the driving range....boy does my husband love having a boy!! Chris told me it was like his b-day too! He also chose to go to a park. I must say Seattle has the most amazing parks. Around every corner we find a new fun one.
Then we went to Johnny Rockets for burgers and fries.

He he is playing with his new tool bench.
He also requested a rocket ship cake, so here is what I made. It is kind of hard to see the red rocket top on the red spider man table cloth, but oh well. Si really enjoyed helping me make it.

My 28th

Well, I'm 28 now, and I feel so blessed to have such amazing people in my life. I couldn't ask for a better husband. He pointed out to me that he has been in my life longer than he hasn't, so I have known him for 15 years, which is pretty lucky on my part. And Silas is a great kid and so fun. We would be so blessed to have five more just like him! It was an awesome birthday!

Chris and Si made me a very tasty cake. Si put the sprinkles on, if you couldn't tell, and my mom made me a fabuolous dinner

We all went to the zoo. It was a nice fall day, and the zoo has really pretty leaves.

I won tickets on the radio to high school musical on ice at Key Arena. It was pretty good. Chris and my dad were great sports for enduring that for me.

Eatable play dough

Si helped me make eatable play dough the other day. It was a big hit! He is so much fun. He is really into projects and helping me in the kitchen, so this was a perfect activity for us.

Hello from Seattle.

We are having such a wonderful time exploring our new surroundings. There is so much to do, and since we love activities, we are keeping busy. We have a great community center a few blocks away, so we frequent there play gym. We have many shops, restaurants, parks and the library just a short walk away, we even have a cupcake bakery nearby...Silas is loving it. We miss Wenatchee...family, friends, church our home, but we are really enjoying Seattle. We are liking the church we attend, Mars Hill in Ballard, which is a huge church(5,000+) a little bigger than anything in Wenatchee. We would LOVE to have visitors. This is an invitation to all our friends and family to come check out our cozy apartment. Our living room is defiantly big enough for a few blow up beds!!

P.S. from Chris GO COUGS! (for all those wondering if he has turned to the dark side, just take a look at his shirt in the picture:)

Making carmel apples.

Now that we don't have many friends to hang out with, we are finding lots of time to do fun family activities. I feel so blessed to have such a great family, we have so much fun just the three of us doing whatever. This particular night we decided to make soup, Carmel apples and watch movies. Notice the pretty flowers in the pumpkin, Chris got those for me for our 7th anniversary. He is such a sweet guy.

Got to love the sprinkles.

Yeah time to start!

Doing a little golfing

Chris loves having a son! Si is really enjoying golf. He asks everyday if we can go to the driving range. I just love his little clubs. Everyone at the course thinks he looks very cute carrying his clubs like daddy.

Our new place!!

Our new apartment in Seattle. It is a 1 bedroom and 1 bath. It is cozy, but it will work for 9 months. We really like the location, there is a lot of things to do really close. Everyone is very friendly in our building. Si even got invited to his friend's birthday party who lives in the complex. Chris' bus ride to school is anywhere from 20 min. to 40 min. in rush hour, but he gets a lot of reading done for school, so it is working out well.

Woodland park zoo

We got a pass to the woodland park zoo. It is not to far from our apartment. We go there often. We can take visitors in real cheap, so anyone should let us know if they want to come over. We would love to have you.

Remlinger farms with the Howes

This place was one of the best things for kids Si's age. They have a bunch of kiddie rides and other farm activities. Si was in heaven. He loves going on rides, so even though it rained, we spent a lot of time on the rides. The rain drove others away, so there were no lines...it was great. Savy did not enjoy the rides, but Orlando and Dino were good sports and let Si ride with them. He really likes the older boys and wants to do everything they do. They also had kiddie shows with songs and stuff. It was such a fun day.

Orlando looking a little freaked by the goat.

Mr. Howe and Si going at it in the hay pit.

Aren't they cute. If you can't tell Savy is screaming!

Erik looks like he is having blast!

Orlando and Si way up high.

First pony ride that he wasn't afraid of.

Orlando went round and round and round on the canoe with Si. He is such a good kid!

Baseball anyone?

Camping at Birch Bay.

My guys will golf anywhere, even in the water! While there we went to the Lynden County fair and saw the newsboys concert. The pictures of the newsboys did not turn out...too dark. We also spent time with Kev and Candice, which is always fun!

Chris rowing his dingy out to sea. He went out to set his crab traps. The next day he checked the traps and had 20+ keepers, but legally he could only keep 5. We still have some legs in the freezer. I think crabbing will be a new tradition and hobby. Si thought the crabs were pretty exciting.

Cousin time!

Si has a lot of fun when all his cousins get together. We celebrated Jeremy's birthday while they were up visiting from California.

Packing up!

We are in the middle of packing up our house. We will be moving out next week, so the missionaries can move in and get settled before their boys start school. We will be staying at my parents until Sept. 20th, which is when we move to Seattle. We are getting very excited to start our adventure in Seattle. We found a place to live in Ballard. It's a small one bedroom apartment, but it has a lot of stuff we liked about it. It feels like a safe area, which was my main concern. It is walking distance to some of our favorite things...library, parks, beach ect. Chris thinks the commute won't be too bad. After looking around, we decided the further away from the college kids, the better. Most all the people in our complex are young professionals, so hopefully it won't be loud. After a lot of prayer, we feel like God blessed us with a place that will meet our needs. He is so awesome and always takes care of us! This summer has been very busy. We have made it to a bunch of water parks and went on some great camping trips. Hopefully, I can post some photos sometime. Well, back to packing!!

Headed to home sweet home.

On the way home we flew to Seattle, then rented a car to drive around and look at apartments for next year, then we got on a train to come home. Planes, trains and automobiles!! The train was the best leg of the trip. The scenery was so pretty. Si enjoyed it, but I think he liked the plane the best. As soon as we landed, he said he wanted to take off again and fly to the moon. He is so his father's child. I don't like take off or landing, but these two just love it.

Visiting Chris' family in Fond du Lac, WI

We had a great time with the Keifenheim's. Si loves to play with the kids, and we enjoy catching up with everyone. As you can see, Si really liked his Uncle Jim.

Bo, Eric, Si and Chris went into the petting zoo. Si did not want to be put down.

We went on the train at the park.

All aboard!
